Afif had a 93-run unbeaten run which was his first 50-plus score, and Mehidy also scored an 81-run stand as Bangladesh took the lead with seven balls remaining following the fact that Afghanistan was bowled to 215 after 49.1 overs.

The Afghanistan spin trio composed of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi ? was described by Tamim Iqbal as the best in the world? They could only take two wickets, and Afif and Mehidy kept them in check.

In his second ODI, the pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi was forced to leave Bangladesh 18-4, as Afghanistan seemed to have won the game.

Mujeeb (1-32) was the one to take his wicket from Shakib (10) was the only member of Bangladesh’s top six players to hit double figures.

Rashid Khan (1-30) then won the scalp of Mahmudullah by a half-tracker in the process, pushing Afghanistan closer to a seventh straight win in ODI.

However, Afif and Mehidy were up in the moments that mattered the most.

Playing with a cautious and aggressive approach served them well, but it also frustrated Afghanistan with the dew that hung over the night.

Afif struck Rashid for one hit to complete his half-century in 64 balls.

Mehidy took pacer Yamin Ahmadzai for a boundary ball through square leg for his second half-century from 79 balls.

Farooqi, who scored 5-4, returned for his second innings looking to deliver the opening but was unsuccessful as Afif and Mehidy ended the game with style, the latter pulling Gulbadin Naib to score an unbeaten boundary in mid-wicket.

Najibullah Zadran had earlier scored an impressive 67 off 84 to show Afghanistan complete credibility.

Mustafizur Rahman was the top scorer with 335 runs, and Shakib Al-Hasan Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam took 2 wickets each.

Mustafizur was able to break through by securing his wicket Rahmanullah Gurbaz (7), and after that, Shoriful and Taskin started to play and reduced Afghanistan down to 102-4.

Najibullah and Nabi were part of a 63-run team on the fifth wicket. Afghanistan was set to post a massive total.

Taskin was the one who broke the partnership by then removing Nabi before causing more damage.

Shakib hit twice, removing Naib (17) and Rashid for ducks in the same over, allowing him to allow Najibullah alone to take charge for the rest of the innings.

Najibullah scored thirteenth-ODI 50 with 70 balls, squeezing the ball of Shakib toward the square for one.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided for a bat during the opener to the series.

But, Shoriful removed him in the final battle before Mustafizur washed the tail.

The loss ended Afghanistan’s winning streak of six ODI matches.
