Basavaraj Bommai Accuses Congress of Playing Politics for Bitcoin Scam.
Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday accused Congress of playing politics over the alleged Bitcoin scam and once again asked the opposition party to provide documents related to the matter, if any, to investigative agencies.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Bommai said: “You should ask the question (of Congress). I have repeatedly said that if you have any documentary evidence to give it to ED or the state police. We will seriously investigate it.”
He also said that Congress wants to keep the issue alive and that it is nothing more than politics.
Karnataka’s prime minister had previously said that “the problem had gotten bigger” because the Opposition did not investigate the matter properly when he was in power.
State Minister K Sudhakar had also called Congress the “party of corruption” for the alleged bitcoin scam and said that the state government had ordered an investigation into the matter and that the investigative team had shared all the information with Interpol. , Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI.
Earlier, Karnataka’s former chief minister and congressional leader Siddaramaiah alleged that politicians and officials were involved in a Bitcoin scam in the state and that investigative agencies are trying to safeguard them.
The head of the state Congress, DK Shivakumar, also claimed that it took place on a large scale and said it is shocking that police officers, political leaders and businessmen are involved in the scam.
