Basavaraj Bommai tests positive for COVID-19 cancels Delhi visit

Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, said today that his trip to Delhi had been postponed after testing positive for COVID-19 with moderate symptoms.
He said that he had become alone at home.

“Isolating myself at home after testing positive for COVID-19 with little symptoms. Please separate yourself and get tested if you have contacted me in the previous several days. My flight to Delhi has been cancelled, “Bommai sent a tweet.

Mr. Bommai was scheduled to arrive in Delhi today to attend the third national committee meeting of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and the Governing Council meeting of the NITI Aayog, both of which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening and tomorrow morning, respectively.

Additionally, he was scheduled to meet with BJP national leadership to discuss current events in the state and the next assembly elections in 2023.

The State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), the opening of the annual Independence Day flower exhibition at Lalbagh’s glass house, the Annual General Meeting of Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), and other events were among those Mr. Bommai attended throughout the day on Friday.
