On Thursday, the Indian Embassy located in Kyiv issued a new advisory for Indian nationals in Ukraine, asking for them to be in peace and be safe wherever they go.
“Please be calm and remain safe wherever you are, whether in your homes, accommodation, hostels or even in transit,” the Indian embassy issued an advisory to Indians living in Ukraine.
“All travelers in Kyiv are advised to go back to their home cities for a short period. More advisories are coming will be issued soon,” the statement added.

In the meantime, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that it is continuously watching what is happening in Ukraine.
“We are monitoring the rapid change in Ukraine closely. Our focus is on the security and safety of Indians, especially students. According to ANI, the control room is currently being built and is available 24 hours a day,” govt sources said.
India on Thursday demanded an immediate de-escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
It warned that the situation could be likely to escalate into a crisis of significant proportions.
At the same time that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his decision to start “military operations in the eastern region of Ukraine.”
The fifteen-nation UN Security Council held an emergency meeting regarding Ukraine late Wednesday night.
The second of the week’s meetings and the fourth meeting since the 31st of January, as tensions increased among Russia and Ukraine.
While the UNSC meeting was in progress, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres directly appealed to Putin to stop his soldiers from attacking Ukraine and stop his troops from attacking Ukraine.
The Russian leader has announced a military strike in the eastern region of Ukraine.
India’s Permanent Reprieve to the UN Ambassador T S Tirumurti told the Council that New Delhi had attended the Council meeting on Ukraine only two days ago, called for a rapid reduction of tensions, and emphasized ongoing Focused diplomacy tackles all issues related to the current situation.
“However, we do note, with regret, that the demands by the world’s community provide some time to recent initiatives taken by the parties to ease tensions were not taken into consideration. He stated that the situation could be in danger of escalating into a serious crisis”, he stated.
India expressed its deep concern regarding the recent developments that should be handled with the care that can threaten the security and peace of the area.
India demanded an immediate end to the violence and abstaining from actions that could escalate the situation.
“We consider that the answer is a sustained dialogue between all parties involved. We insist on the necessity for all parties to ensure peace and security in the world with the strictest restraining measures”, he added.
Tirumurti also stated that more than 20.000 Indian citizens, including students, reside in various regions of Ukraine and within its border regions.
“We facilitate returning all Indian nationals, as well as Indian college students as is required according to the law,” he added.
India has urged all parties to put forth more efforts to bridge the gap between divergent interests in the face of conflict, with Tirumurti insisting it is essential that security concerns of all parties must be considered in all aspects.
India has repeatedly emphasized in the United Nations the need for peaceful resolution of disputes conformity with international law and following agreements signed by the parties involved.
