Bihar Announces Total Lockdown

The blockade will remain in effect at all municipal, district, subdivision, and block headquarters levels.

Bihar Lockdown: On a day when Bihar recorded the worst single-day peak of 1,432 Covid-19 cases, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi announced Tuesday that a full state blockade would apply from July 16 to July 31 to break the transmission chain.

In a tweet, Sushil Modi reported that the blockade would remain in effect at all municipal, district, sub-divisional and headquarters levels of the block. “The government has made a decision in this regard … Corona has no vaccine or medication,” Modi said at a virtual rally.

Bihar has currently registered 18,853 new cases of coronavirus. Of the 1,432 cases on Tuesday, Patna reported the maximum number of patients at 162, followed by East Champaran at 124, Begusarai at 114, Nalanda at 107, Nawada at 92, Bhagalpur at 61, West Champaran at 58, Siwan at 55 and Muzaffarpur. at 54, the PTI news agency reported. Here are the complete guidelines:

* Essential services allowed.

* Agricultural and construction activities allowed.

* Places of worship to remain closed.

* Commercial, private, and government establishments that will remain closed.

* The Indian government offices, its autonomous subordinate offices, and the public corporation will remain closed.

Exceptions: Defense, central armed police forces, treasury. Disaster management of public services (including oil, CNG, LPG, PNG). Power generation and transmission units, post offices. National computing center. Early warning agencies

* The offices of the State Government post, its autonomous bodies, corporations, etc. remain closed.

Exceptions: A) Police services, home guards, civil defense, fire and emergency, disaster management, elections, and prisons.

b) District Administration and Treasury together with the videoconference support of BELTRON IT services.

C) Electricity, water supply, sanitation, health, food and civil supplies, water resources, agriculture, animal husbandry.

d) municipal bodies

e) Personal forestry officers and workers required to operate and maintain 200, nurseries, parks. plantation, forest fire fighting, wildlife rescue
including human-wildlife conflict management, plantation irrigation, patrol and sanctuary protection, including tiger reserves, operation
of pollution monitoring stations, and the corresponding field offices and central offices.

f) Social Welfare Offices: staff and workers must (i) operate and maintain child care institutions under the Juvenile Justice Law, nursing homes, homes for women, homeless and people with disabilities (ii) to pay subsidies for food security under National Security Law {iii} to pay: social security pensions and the corresponding field offices and central offices.

* Hospitals and all related medical facilities will continue to operate. Transportation of all medical personnel, nurses, paramedical personnel and other hospital support services is permitted. This provision will also apply to veterinary services and establishments.

* Commercial and private establishments will be closed.

Exceptions: a) Stores, including ration stores (under PDS), which deal with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk houses, meat and fish, animal fodder, agricultural inputs. However, the authorities are encouraged to facilitate home delivery.

b) Banks, insurance offices, and ATMs that include all branch offices related to the bank, such as cash management, IT services, etc.

c) Printed and electronic media.

d) Telecommunications, internet services, radio, and cable services.

e) Electronic commerce (all kinds of goods)

f) Gasoline pumps, retail, and storage of LPG and gas.

g) Hospitality services including hotels/motels/accommodations, restaurants, Dhabas, and restaurants may only open with delivery / takeaway services.

* All transportation services will be suspended.

Exceptions: a) Railways, air, and rail transport will continue to be functional.

b) Taxis, auto-rickshaws will be allowed throughout Bihar

c) Private vehicles will be allowed in Bihar only for permitted activities

d) All essential service providers may travel from home to the workplace.
