Suraj Kumar Singh was the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha general secretary of the district. He dies from injuries sustained within his home at Tata Main Hospital in Jharkhand.

State BJP president Deepak Prakash alleged that criminals rule the day within the JMM government of Hemant Soren.

Singh was allegedly stabbed using a dagger by Sonu Singh and his accomplices Harharguttu in the Bagbera police station. As Singh returned home, police confirmed.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), M Tamil Vanan, confirmed that Suraj and Sonu disagreed regarding the land they were occupying.

Police have said that they have detained Sonu and two other suspects, including a minor.

In interrogation, the suspect claimed to police that Suraj had been causing problems since he was appointed the general secretary of the district for BJYM.

Two of the suspects were taken into the judicial custody of a court. However, few of them were placed in a juvenile residence, according to police.
