British PM Boris Johnson is on the edge of facing an election challenge to his leadership.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is close to being sacked as a leader. According to reports, following outrage over the claims, events occurred at the house during the coronavirus lockdowns.
Following the time that Johnson rejected an accusation made by his former adviser, that he had made up stories in front of the legislature about a party, sources claimed that the minimum amount of his lawmakers’ letters asking for a no-confidence vote on his leadership might be reached on Wednesday.
According to an article in the media, up to twenty Conservative lawmakers who were elected to their seats in the general election of 2019 are expected to file letters of no confidence to Johnson.
Johnson’s office didn’t respond to a request for comments.
Two years ago, Johnson was the darling of his party when Johnson won the largest Conservative number of votes in the party since Margaret Thatcher in 1987, making it possible for him to keep his promises to take Britain away from into the European Union.
However, the relationship is fast becoming sour due to an ongoing series of reports concerning Downing Street’s apparent violation of the rules that govern lockdowns.
To start a leadership battle, all 54 Conservative lawmakers in parliament have to express confidence in the Chairman of the party’s 1922 Committee.
The letters are secret, and the committee chairman is the only one who can tell how many lawmakers sent the letters.
