She also said that Jammu and Kashmir have been turned into a lab and that the political process has been ruined there.

People in Jammu and Kashmir are hurting because bulldozers have destroyed the constitution and democracy, Mehbooba said. She added that the people of J&K have to live with the way things are run from afar.

She also said that the main political parties are being pushed around.

“In this case, we can’t go anywhere. The leaders are being stripped of their safety. The political process has been completely wiped out, ” The PDP leader said.

Mehbooba said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was right when he said that the youth in J&K will not have to deal with what their fathers and grandfathers had to deal with. They will be booked under the UAPA, harassed by the NIA and other agencies, jailed, moved to Tihar prison, and the jobs meant for them will be given to people else.

She said that the PM was talking about young people, but “I don’t know who he was referring to, those booked under UAPA, or those whose land is being taken?”
