Canada imposes sanctions against arm supply to Mayanmar military.
In what can only be described as democratic vengeance for Myanmar’s military coup, Canada imposed new sanctions against both persons and businesses involved in the procurement of arms for Myanmar’s military government.
Global Affairs Canada announced the announcement in a statement released on Friday.
“Under the Special Economic Measures (Burma) Regulations, Canada is imposing targeted penalties against people and entities responsible for acquiring and providing arms and military equipment to Myanmar’s military regime and the Commander of the Air Force,” the statement added.

According to Canadian officials, the decision to impose these extra penalties was made in consultation with the US and UK governments.
“Canada stands in solidarity with Myanmar’s people. We cannot and will not keep silent. At the same time, this regime continues to treat human life with such cruelty, “Melanie Joly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated.
Jolly urged the international community to pressure Myanmar’s military to stop killing its citizens.
Last February, the Myanmar military seized power under a constitutional framework for transferring power in an emergency.
