People who spread false information about national security, foreign relations, and public order have had 22 YouTube channels shut down by the government.
Under the new IT Rules, 2021, 18 Indian YouTube news channels have been blocked for the first time. This time, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has blocked four Pakistani YouTube news channels and three other news channels.

“There were a lot of YouTube channels used to spread fake news about different things, like the Indian Armed Forces and Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani social media accounts were also ordered to stop posting anti-India content and content from other social media accounts that were run together, “People in the government said.
“It was found that there was a lot of false content on these Indian YouTube channels about the current situation in Ukraine, which was meant to harm India’s foreign relations with other countries,” the statement said.
