Change Field of View in Warzone: The Warzone field of View guide will talk you through all you should know to modify how you view the world on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
What Is Field of View?
The field of view determines the height and width of your game’s perspective. So the smaller your FOV is, the more concentrated it will be on what’s in front of you.
The larger your FOV, the more you’ll be able to see in your peripheral. The picture below shows the extra you will see when you boost the Field of View.
So, you’ll likely be looking to improve the Field of View in Warzone to be able to spot enemies within your immediate areas much more quickly.
How to Change Field of View in Warzone
To alter your FOV, go into your Warzone main menu screen and select the ‘Options’ menu. It is located on the left side of the PC screen.
It should bring you to the screen ‘Options,’ and you’ll need to switch to General.’
In the top right corner of the ‘Screen’ tab, there is the “Field of view” option. It’ll set to an amount between the middle and an array by default.
You have to choose the ‘Field of View’ option and slide the slider toward the right side to raise it and to the left or right to reduce it.
We’d suggest extending the FOV of your vehicle to 120 or close as is possible in Warzone because it will allow you to see more of your surroundings in all conditions.
It is important to note that a larger Field of View can cause issues with performance, such as lower framerate or visual artifacts, as your computer or console must be able to process and show more significant areas of the globe than it could with a smaller FOV.
Can You Change Warzone Field of View on Consoles?
At this moment, you can’t alter your Warzone Field of View on PlayStation or Xbox.
But, considering that the option exists within Black Ops Cold War, we’re keeping our fingers crossed it’ll include in the battle royale game shortly.
When Are Console Players Getting FOV?
The absence of a FOV slider in console gaming is, as per CharlieIntel it is due that “the dip in performance was too significant with the map size + player to count that it affected the overall experience of playing.”
Therefore, it is unlikely that console users will ever have access to the slider for their field of view. The most likely scenario for this modification option being added to the game will be in Warzone 2’s sequel Warzone 2. It would likely only be accessible for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S due to their higher performance in terms of graphics and computation.
It’s just speculation, but there is no confirmation as of this time.
