Cheteshwar Pujara was hit on his helmet by a Neil Wagner bouncer on a grueling Day 2 of the WTC final in Southampton on Saturday. Wagner from New Zealand was immediately seen going up to Pujara to see how he was doing while the physio from India was also quick to see how he was doing.

Pujara played 35 point balls before going off the mark with a limit, but his third association with India’s patron Virat did not last long.
In ’37, Wagner launched a 130 kph gorilla that broke Pujara’s helmet, and the protection on the back of the helmet was ripped off. Pujara got in shape to shoot, but missed the ball and hit the grid on his helmet.
Pujara has taken the most hits to the helmet (7) since the start of 2018, two more than Ajinkya Rahane, Rory Burns and Marnus Labuschagne.
A few overs later, Pujara again failed to swing the ball when Trent Boult produced some late inswing and India lost their No. 3 hitter’s big wicket for 8.
Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are currently in the middle of India in the second session.
