China is increasing its defense budget by 7.1% this year. 

Despite China’s modest economic growth forecast, the country will spend 7.1% more on defense this year than last year. 

This is because Premier Li Keqiang wants to protect the country’s sovereignty, security, and development interests.

Li said that the People’s Liberation Army, which is working on a wide range of weapons, would get better military training and be more ready for battle. These weapons range from stealth fighters to aircraft carriers.
