Cinema Halls and Multiplexes Prepare for reopening in Delhi.
Movie theaters, theaters, and multiplexes in Delhi have started preparing to reopen to 50 percent capacity starting Monday, as the city continues to further unblock itself with a decline in daily coronavirus cases.
“We will adhere to all Covid protocols: no mask, no entry. Constant disinfection checks will be carried out. We will be completely contactless, from tickets to food,” JJ Verma, manager of Delite Cinema, told NewsGater.
When asked if OTT platforms made a profit when movie theaters were closed due to the Covid-induced lockdown, he said: “OTT platforms certainly made a profit during the lockdown. But we are hopeful that theaters will open and so do we.
At the same time, We will start to make some profits and recoup our losses. We should reopen on Friday this week as we don’t have much content at the moment. Cinema operators have been hugely affected due to the Covid pandemic. ”
However, Niti Aayog member VK Paul had recently urged the Delhi government to remain vigilant as the next three months are important in preventing an increase in Covid cases and unlocking activities that may cause an increase in infections.
“Unlocking activity could lead to an increase in cases, although at present the positivity rate for cases is at an all-time low,” VK Paul told a Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting. ).
