Colin Powell dead at 84 because of complications from COVID-19.
Former Secretary of the State Colin Powell has died due to COVID-19-related complications. His family announced a post posted through Facebook this morning. He was 84.
According to the Powell family, Powell was immunized and received treatment in the Walter Reed National Medical Center.
“We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great American,” the family stated in their statement.

“General Colin L. Powell was a former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, died this morning from complications caused by Covid 19. He was completely vaccinated. We want to thank the medical team in the Walter Reed National Medical Center for their compassionate treatment. We lost a remarkable and affectionate father, husband, grandfather, and a truly great American.”

A former leader of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Powell was unanimously appointed Secretary of State in 2001.
Powell would then present a convincing argument in front of the United Nations for military action against Iraq in the belief that Saddam Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction.
The war was fought, Saddam was toppled and killed, Iraq was destabilized, but no weapons of mass destruction were discovered.
Powell repeatedly stood up for his support of his support for Iraq War.
However, the long-time Republicans did not have much respect for Trump.
He endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and supported Biden in Biden’s 2020 Democratic convention.
He resigned from the Republican Party after the Jan. 6 attack against Capitol Hill. U.S. Capitol.
