On Thursday, Virat Kohli and his devoted followers celebrated a memorable event. After more than a thousand days, Kohli hit his maiden international century.
In an Asia Cup match against Afghanistan, Kohli scored a 61-ball 122* by hitting 12 fours and six sixes on his way. He had a 200.00 strike rate.
Kohli last scored a triple-figure run against Bangladesh in November 2019 before this ton.
Kohli has faced criticism for his recent slump, but his performance in the Asia Cup has silenced all of his critics.
I was a little surprised because this was a format where I least expected a ton. But, I have been working hard, and this is an extraordinary moment for the team and me as well, Virat Kohli said after scoring a ton.

“Last two and a half years have taught me a lot. But I am going to turn 34 in November. So, those celebrations are a thing of the past.”
“I knew there was a lot of stuff going on outside. They really kept my perspective correct,” the player said. “The team has been open and supportive. It provided me freedom to focus on my game.”
To his wife Anushka and daughter Vamika, Kohli devoted his entire life. “This hundred is dedicated to her and for our beautiful daughter Vamika as well,” he added.
“And I kissed my ring in the celebration. So you see me standing here because of all the stuff put into perspective by one person who stuck with me through all these terrible moments.
Virat Kohli claimed that the break he took after the Tour of England was highly beneficial to him.
After taking six weeks off, I felt rejuvenated and realized how exhausted I was. Of course, competitiveness doesn’t allow it, but Kohli said this break enabled me to appreciate the game again. “Time away from the game taught me a lot of things,” he said.
