Deep-seated conspiracies at stake to leave Sikhs leaderless: Sukhbir Singh Badal

Deep-seated conspiracies at stake to leave Sikhs leaderless: Sukhbir Singh Badal.

SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday warned Sikhs against alleged deep-seated conspiracies to leave the community leaderless and called for “identifying and defeating them.” Addressing a Manji Sahib Diwan Hall meeting in the Golden Temple complex, the Akali leader warned: “against conspiracies to make the community totally dependent on non-Sikh centers of power outside Punjab.”

He claimed that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was the only regional party in Punjab.

“While the Congress is driven from the January 10 Path, the AAP is a servant of Kejriwal. SAD, born in Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, is the only party that prides itself on being a Punjabi party, ”he said.

Badal alleged that the congressional governments first tried “to break our spirit through tanks and mortars.”

“But they soon realized that this could not be achieved and they resorted to conspiracies to divide us. Its aim is to keep the community divided and leaderless and to create a situation where Sikhs have no platform or leadership of their own and have to turn to non-Sikh and non-Punjabi parties and leaders even to resolve religious crises like the one that we faced in 1984, ”he said.

The SAD chairman said that the Akali Dal Committee and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak are trustees of the faith of the Sikhs and the confidence of the Punjabis in the philosophy of the ‘Guru’.

“Both the SAD and the SGPC belong to all those who subscribe to the ‘Panthic’ philosophy and the Punjabi identity,” he said, adding that all differences between Sikhs can and should be resolved within the family.

“We welcome even the bitterest criticism because we belong to you. We are open to any criticism, suggestion or advice. Criticize me, correct me, curse me when you think I’m wrong. But don’t join Panth’s enemies in weakening our precious institutions. These are yours and you choose them ”, said Badal.

Referring to incidents of sacrilege, Badal said that these incidents appear linked to conspiracies “to achieve what our enemies could not”.

“Now they think they can destroy us by dividing us. We must be vigilant. The truth will come out one day that these were all conspiracies against the Sikhs to divide and weaken them, ”he said.
