Delhi court grants bail to Deep Sidhu in Republic Day violence case

A Delhi court on Monday granted bail to actor and activist Deep Sidhu, charged in connection with the Red Fort violence on Republic Day.

Deep Sidhu was arrested on February 9 and a Delhi court granted him bail on April 16 in the case. He was subsequently arrested in another related case.

On January 26, thousands of protesting farmers who came to ITO from the Ghazipur border clashed with the police. Many of them in tractors reached the Red Fort and entered the monument, where a religious flag was also hoisted.

In the FIR, the police said that two magazines with 20 active cartridges were seized from two officers by the protesters who also damaged vehicles and stole riot gear.
