Delhi schools to reopen classes 6 and up beginning tomorrow.
School in Delhi for classes 6th-12th will open on December 18, according to Delhi’s government’s official notice.
The decision was taken based on the National Commission for Air Quality Management recommendations.
The Commission acknowledged that it received numerous complaints, which argued that it was a “compelling necessity” for opening schools and other educational establishments.
In line with the direction from the Supreme Court, the Commission looked into the requests of different organizations for relaxations to the restrictions it imposed in a statement.
All schools in Delhi were closed on December 3 following an appeal by the Supreme Court questioned the Delhi government over reopening physical classes in schools, despite an increase in pollutants in Delhi’s air.
In the last week, the pollution control agency announced that a decision regarding the reopening of schools would be made by December 17.
However, the Delhi government reported the order following the air quality in the capital city.
