New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) alleged on Sunday that Dinesh Trivedi, who resigned from Rajya Sabha on Friday, took the “House for a spin” and was “allowed” to use the House floor for his “twisted political ends.” .
In a letter to the chairman of Rajya Sabha, House party leader Sukhendu Sekhar Ray said that the TMC had recommended only two names as speakers for the 2021-22 Union budget discussion, but Trivedi was not among they.
The time allotted to TMC in the discussion ran out after both speakers spoke on their designated days, Ray said as he questioned why Trivedi was allowed to speak despite this.
“At approximately 1:25 p.m. on February 12, 2021, when the Honorable Minister of Finance was about to give an answer to the budget discussion, a member of the AITC, Sri Dinesh Trivedi, who resigned, was allowed to speak for about four minutes from 1:25 pm to 1:29 pm, although his name was not recommended by the AITC as a speaker in the Budget discussion and there was no time for the party, ”he said.

“I urge you to immediately launch an investigation into the matter and find out the reasons behind such an unprecedented illegality,” he added.
