Bangalore, February 15Climate activist Disha Ravi, arrested for allegedly sharing with Greta Thunberg the “toolkit” related to the farmer’s protest against the Center’s three farm laws, had been participating in environmental upheavals in the city, some environmentalists said. Monday.
However, not much is known about “Fridays for Future (FFF),” a campaign run by Thunberg that Disha Ravi reportedly co-founded in India, including among many of the environmental groups here.
Delhi Police said Disha Ravi, who was arrested by a Cyber Cell team from the force on Saturday, was an editor of the “Google doc toolkit” and a “key conspirator” in formulating and disseminating the document.
Police alleged that Ravi and others “collaborated with the pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation to spread discontent against the Indian state.” An environmental activist said here on Monday: “We have seen her (Disha Ravi) taking part in environmental upheavals here. Sometimes, it was in solitude and she seemed to keep her distance from others.”

Disha Ravi graduated from a leading university here. Another environmental activist said: “The FFF is not a very well known organization in Bengaluru and its activists were hardly seen anywhere. I have seen some of its members agitate alone in the streets without much support.”
Meanwhile, the Bengaluru police declined to comment on the issue and did not say whether they knew in advance about his arrest by their Delhi counterparts. Condemning his arrest, the “All India Students Association” organized a protest here on Monday.
Holding banners and wearing black masks, the agitators raised slogans, “Free Disha Ravi.” Their posters read: “Supporting farmers is not sedition” and “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.”
