Rishabh Pant was denied a limit because he had been wrongly handed over, a decision that was overturned by DRS, of a ball during their entertaining 77 of 40 balls in the second ODI against England on Friday.
Pant received LBW at 40 after pitcher Tom Curran appealed, but he signaled his bat right away and took a Review. Replays showed there was a thick edge, after which the ball flew past Jos Buttler to the boundary rope. Pant’s firing was overturned after this, but a questionable DRS clause prevented all four races from being added to India’s score, leaving Pant visibly impressed.

Clause 3.7 of Appendix D of the ICC conditions of play, which deals with DRS, reads: “If after a player’s request for review, an original Out decision is changed to No Out, then the ball is still considered dead when the decision was made. “
It says: “The hitting side, while benefiting from the revocation of the ejection, will not benefit from any runs that may have subsequently accumulated from the pitch originally held by the outfield umpire.”

A little later, Pant was again delivered by mistake, and again annulled the decision with a Review. He then broke a 77 of 40 balls before being caught in the depths. India finished 336/6 in their 50 overs.
