EC filed FIR against 13 candidates in West Bengal for disobeying the Covid Rules.
Six-phase elections are over in Bengal, and two more phases remain. The 8 round of elections will end on April 29, 2021. Election Commission will count the voting result on May 2.4.2021. And the commission took strict measures before him. Before the last two rounds of elections, the EC filed FIR against 13 candidates in West Bengal for disobeying the Covid Rules.
The commission had to face criticism from the Superior Court yesterday. The Calcutta High Court had criticized the commission for abiding by Kovid’s rules. A bench of Chief Justice TBN Radhakrishnan said: “The commission has left everything to the people only by issuing guidelines. We want action, not guidelines.”
Subsequently, the commission yesterday issued a directive prohibiting all marches, processions, roadshows, and large public rallies in the last two electoral rounds. Political parties can only hold small meetings. And this time, the commission got tougher and filed an FIR against the candidates for not following the rules.
