The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided multiple locations in Maharashtra linked to state transport minister Anil Parab this morning as part of a money-laundering investigation into alleged irregularities in a land deal in the Ratnagiri district’s Dapoli area.
After the probe agency filed a new case against the Shiv Sena leader under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, searches are being conducted at seven locations in Pune, Mumbai, and Dapoli, including Mr Parab’s residence (PMLA).

The ED action against the minister stems from allegations that Mr Parab paid 1 crore for a plot of land in Dapoli in 2017, but it was only registered in 2019.
The land was allegedly sold to Sadanand Kadam, a Mumbai-based cable operator, for 1.10 crore in 2020, and built a resort on the land between 2017 and 2020.
An earlier investigation by the Income Tax Department claimed that the resort’s construction began in 2017 and cost over $6 million.
