Elon Musk Says Donald Trump's Twitter ban is "morally wrong

Elon Musk Says Donald Trump’s Twitter ban is “morally wrong.”

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, called former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter ban “morally wrong” and claimed he would overturn it if he purchased the social media network.

According to Reuters, Musk and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey think permanent bans should be “very unusual” and reserved for users who run bots or distribute spam, which is considered the strongest hint yet of Musk’s plan to slash monitoring the microblogging site.

“Wrong and terrible” tweets should be removed or hidden, and a temporary account suspension may be necessary.

According to Reuters, Musk said, “I believe permabans fundamentally destroy faith in Twitter as a town square where everyone can share their viewpoint.”

He said that Trump’s ideas were exacerbated by the decision to ban him. He labeled the ban “morally wrong and flat-out foolish.”

Musk, for example, has agreed to purchase Twitter Inc for $44 billion and will take over as interim CEO when the transaction closes, according to Reuters, citing a person familiar with the situation.

Shortly after the assault on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, Trump was permanently banned from Twitter. In making its judgment, Twitter cited “the potential of future instigation of violence.”

Trump’s account, which had more than 88 million followers, was suspended days before his tenure ended, ending years of dispute about how social media firms should manage the accounts of strong world leaders.

On the other hand, Trump has said that he would not return to Twitter if permitted. Truth Social, his social networking app, was released in late February on the Apple app store.

Trump has stepped up his message on the new platform after a poor start, publishing to his 2.7 million followers roughly 50 times in the previous week. When he was president, he allegedly averaged 18 tweets every day.
