Evin Lewis scored a rapid fifty, while Ayush Badoni was impressive again as Lucknow Super Giants brushed aside Chennai Super Kings’ 210/7 to register their first victory in the tournament.
CSK set a daunting target of 211, and first-timers completed the task at the Brabourne Stadium with three balls left.
Quinton de Kock scored 61 points, and KL Rahul scored 40. Evin Lewis scored 55 from 23 balls.
Robin Uthappa’s half-century was marked by blistering runs from Shivam Dube and Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu’s diminutive appearance, helping Chennai Super Kings reach their 211-run target.
KL Rahul won the toss, and send Chennai Super Kings to bat. Robin Uthappa began brilliantly hitting consecutive boundaries at Avesh Khan in the first two balls of the match. In the first over, the defending champions scored 14 runs.

Uthappa treated Dushmanta Chameera similarly, hitting him six and four in the second match. CSK had put on 26 runs during the first two overs. Ravi Bishnoi’s direct hit was crucial as it helped his side score their first victory. He ran out Ruturaj Gaikwad to run out CSK for 1.
Moeen Ali came in to bat and batted aggressively in the same way as Uthappa. CSK’s total surpassed 50 runs in the fifth over. Andrew Tye was hammered by the Karnataka lad for 18 runs in that over.
Moeen Ali ran a run at Krunal Pandya in the final over of the powerplay. CSK scored 73 runs, losing only one wicket in six runs.
Uthappa was able to reach his half-century run in just 25 balls. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi again played a crucial role in the success of Lucknow Super Giants. He took the wicket of Uthappa for 50 runs, hitting eight boundaries and one six.
Shivam Dube and Moeen Ali walked in to bat. The duo increased the team’s total to three figures. Avesh Khan ended the partnership to give Lucknow a much-needed breakthrough. He dismissed Moeen Al for 35 runs off 22 balls.
Ambati Rayudu came in to bat and ensured that the run rate did not drop. CSK crossed the 150-run mark with Rayudu and Dube in 15.2 overs. Bishnoi broke the 60-run partnership as he took Rayudu out for 27 runs from 20 balls.
Captain Ravindra Jadeja joined Dube in the middle, and they continued to march. Shivam Dube was run out for just 49 runs. Avesh caught him in the middle for 29 runs. Chennai lost its fifth wicket for 189.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was relieved by Dube’s dismissal. The talisman began to hit, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni hitting sixes and fours of the first two balls, bringing CSK’s total to 199/5 after 19 overs.
CSK reached 200 runs in the 20th over, but Andrew Tye dismissed Jadeja for 17. Dwaine Pretorius was out wicked for 17. Chennai scored 210 runs in just 20 overs. Dhoni was unbeaten on 16 runs from six balls.
