Fakhar Zaman Jumped 7th Rank in the ODI Cricket
Pakistan starter Fakhar Zaman has moved seven spots to rank 12th in the latest ICC ODI hitters ranking, following his 193 against South Africa in the second ODI in Johannesburg.
Zaman played an all-ages hit Sunday before being eliminated in the last over, breaking the record for the highest score in an ODI inning when he hit second.
From the South African camp, Rassie van der Dussen’s innings of 123 no-outs and 60 in the first two ODIs helped him reach a career-best 22nd place. Skipper Temba Bavuma’s 92 in Game 2 also helped him reach 88th place with the bat, the best of his career.
In bowling, pacemaker Anrich Nortje started the series 4-51 and 3-63 to move to career-best 73rd with 427 points. Compatriot Haris Rauf took five wickets in the top two ODIs to earn 71 places to 143rd.
In the game’s T20I format, Kiwi rookie Finn Allen broke a 71 of 29 balls in the rain-affected third game against Bangladesh to move into the world’s top 100 hitters.
His teammate, Tim Southee, remains the top-ranked finisher in sixth place, with a career-best 669 points, after taking 3-15 in the final match against Bangladesh.
In the test standings, Kraigg Brathwaite was the main driver with the bat moving up 21 places to 43rd. He’s on his highest points count since August 2019.
Oshada Fernando’s second inning with 66 unbeaten helped him gain 11 places to 61. Jason Holder remained in first place in the off-road rankings due to his 30 and 71 innings without further losing 2-39 to Sri Lanka.
