Samyukt Kisan Morcha on Thursday called on BJP MPs and their allies to extend their support for the farmers’ movement.
The SKM also noted that they will continue their “peaceful social boycott” of the BJP leaders and their allies.
“We ask the BJP parliamentarians and their allies and other elected representatives to support the peasant movement. The SKM calls on these leaders to support the movement in any way, including resigning from their positions,” according to a statement issued by SKM.
He claimed that Haryana’s Chief Deputy Minister Dushyant Chautala was greeted with “fierce opposition” from farmers during his visit to Hisar on Thursday.
“The farmers did not let the helicopter of anti-farmer Dushyant Chautala take off,” the statement said.
Chautala, whose Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) is the ruling BJP’s coalition partner in Haryana, has faced repeated protests from farmers in recent months for supporting farm laws.
In Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh too, farmers “made gherao and protested against Pilibangan MLA Dharmendra Singh at Dabli toll plaza.”

“At the time of the vote, (the leaders) become very friendly with the farmers and other people, but today, when the farmers are fighting, he (Singh) opposes them,” the statement said.
He also said that 32 Punjab farmers ‘organizations and SKM have decided “to go ahead with Lakha Sidhana and the associated youth force to intensify the farmers’ movement.”
Sidhana was named in a Delhi Police FIR in connection with the violence in Delhi on Republic Day.
The Center has said that the new agricultural laws will benefit farmers by freeing them from the clutches of middlemen and introducing new technologies into the sector.
