Fire breaks out inside IIT Kharagpur campus
A fire broke out at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur complex on Thursday night, sources with the fire brigade said. There was no loss of life or property.
Firefighters struggled for some time and stopped the fire that broke out in the bushes, sources at the Kharagpur fire station said.
Dry leaves caught fire in a plant-filled area on campus at night, a teacher from IIT Kharagpur told PTI.
“All the buildings have located some distance from where the fire occurred,” he said.
Three fire tenders have been put into service, the sources said.
