Fourteen people, including eight women and a child, were killed and four others were injured when a minibus collided with a truck in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district on Sunday morning, police said.
The incident took place around 4 am when a group of people from the state’s Chittoor district were riding the minibus to Hyderabad, a senior police official told PTI.
They were all on their way to Ajmer in Rajasthan, he added.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the bus driver apparently lost control and the vehicle first hit the median of the road and then rolled to the other side of the road colliding with a truck, the official said.
The injured have been hospitalized and the condition of two of them is said to be serious, police said.
