Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya in a restricted “Bhoomi Pujan” ceremony today. The event marks the beginning of the construction of a large Ram temple in the temple city.
In November of last year, the Supreme Court had paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple by a Trust at the disputed site of the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and ordered the Center to allocate alternative 5-acre land to the He gathers Sunni Waqf to build a new mosque in a “prominent” place in the holy city of Uttar Pradesh.
