Gas Leakage at Mumbai Hospital: Over 50 Patients Moved safety.
A total of 58 patients, 20 of them being treated for coronavirus, were evacuated after an LPG leak was reported at the Kasturba Civic Management Hospital in the Chinchpokli area of Mumbai on Saturday, an official said.
The incident occurred around 11:34 a.m. at the hospital’s 148th building, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.
“The LPG leak caused panic among the patients’ families and hospital staff,” he said.
The hospital’s medical superintendent alerted BMC’s disaster management team to the incident, after which fire brigade officials and technical experts from HPCL rushed to the site, the official said.
“As part of the security measure, the building was evacuated and the patients were transferred to another building on the premises. They are all stable, ”he said.
