Goa Government offering Insurance for Covid Treatment at Private Hospitals.

The Goa government announced on Wednesday that COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals will be covered by its flagship health insurance scheme.

Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the treatment of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals will be covered by the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY).

The scheme will cover 70 to 80 percent of a COVID-19 patient’s expenses in private hospitals, he said, adding that a notice will be issued soon.

The state government recently capped the cost of COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals to Rs 8,000 per day for the general ward and 19,200 per day for ICU facilities with ventilators.

 

According to the ANI report, Goa recorded 3,101 new COVID-19 cases, 24 death, and 839 recovered in the last 24 hours. Total Corona cases in Goga reached 85,009 including 16,591 active cases.
