Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said today that the inquiry into the suspected murder of BJP politician and TikTok actress Sonali Phogat had been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
This action was taken one day after Khaps convened a “Mahapanchayt” in Haryana to discuss the situation.

Despite his faith in the state police and the positive progress of the probe, Mr. Sawant said he would write to Home Minister Amit Shah to request the transfer in response to repeated requests from the Haryana public.
The family of Ms. Phogat, especially her young daughter, has been requesting that a federal agency looking into the circumstances of her death.
