Haryana Minister Suggestions Making National Anthem Compulsory in Madrassas

On Friday, Haryana’s Education Minister Kanwar Pal hinted that the state might make singing the national anthem obligatory in all madrassas a day after Uttar Pradesh did so.

“There’s no risk. Whether at a madrassa or a school, the national song should be performed. There should be no objections, “When questioned by reporters about the UP government’s action and if Haryana was considering a similar move, the minister stated.

Starting Thursday, all madrassas in Uttar Pradesh will be required to sing the national anthem. On May 9, the Registrar of the Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Education Board issued an order to all District Minority Welfare Officers to this effect.

Kanwar Pal was also questioned about Congressman Randeep Singh Surjewala’s demand that the Haryana government drop a new Class 9 history book that identifies the Congress’ “policy of appeasement” as one of the causes for the country’s 1947 partition.

“History will not be sugar-coated. Errors will be noted when the book gives Congress credit for numerous things. He said that accepting the country’s split was a mistake, and it will be mentioned, “he said.

In response to a query, the education minister said that Veer Savarkar, a liberation warrior, and Hindutva theorist, was previously taught in schools and that this would continue.

He claims that the younger generation is receiving accurate historical facts. He said that outstanding individuals, each in their manner, contributed considerably to the country’s liberation from the British.

“These are historical occurrences made known to the next generation,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said that people are enthusiastic about the Pragati Rally, held in Yamunanagar on May 15.

In this rally, he added, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar would dedicate development projects worth crores of rupees to the people.
