Amid a new spike in Covid-19 infections across the state, Haryana on Sunday imposed restrictions on the number of people in indoor and outdoor social gatherings. In indoor functions, a maximum of 50 percent of the room’s capacity will be allowed with a ceiling of 200 people. For events held in open spaces, gatherings with a ceiling of 500 people will be allowed. For funerals, up to 50 people will be allowed.

In announcing this, Sanjeev Kaushal, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and a member of the Haryana State Executive Committee, said: “The capacity of the indoor venues will be specified by the local urban agencies/departments. interested in seeing the calculated correlation between the number of chairs/seats or standing capacity and the area covered in square yards or square feet This has been done according to the revised standard operating procedure and will be applicable for all social functions, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious and political and other congregations. All functions will be allowed with strict adherence to appropriate Covid-19 behavior, such as social distancing rules, use of face masks, disinfection, hand hygiene, and provision for thermal scanning.

He added: “Organizers of social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, political functions and other congregations must obtain the prior permission of the district magistrates. The DMs will issue the permit after requesting the necessary NOCs from the departments concerned, including the police. The Deputy Commissioners will form joint inspection teams to enforce these instructions and must ensure thorough monitoring and take action against violators in accordance with law, rules, instructions, and instructions issued from time to time by the state government. These instructions will be enforced by the deputy commissioners in their respective districts, and any violation will be punished under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, as well as under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, according to national directives. “.

1904 new cases, 7 deaths in 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, Haryana reported 1,904 new cases of Covid-19 infections, while seven patients died.

While Gurgaon added 555 new cases. 34,304 people vaccinated in 24 hours

The health department administered 34,304 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to recipients across the state on Sunday, bringing the consolidated number of vaccinated to more than 18.68 lakh as of Sunday.

On Haryana’s vaccine implementation plan, Haryana ACS (Health) Rajeev Arora said: “The health department has established 524 vaccination centers across the state. These centers have been strategically located in densely populated areas throughout the state and even in rural areas to ensure maximum penetration of the vaccine and thus reduce the spread of the highly contagious virus. Most of the beneficiaries who get vaccinated are over 60 or between 45 and 60 years old.

Regarding the administration of vaccines to health workers (TS) and front-line workers (PDAs), Arora added: “The first dose of the vaccine has been administered at 1.89,767 TS and the second dose at around 1, 14,157 of them ”.

Arora further said, “1,19,586 first-line workers have been given the first dose of the vaccine and 42,455 of them have been given the second dose. The number of the first dose of vaccine administered to beneficiaries older than 60 years is 10,08,390 doses and the second dose has been administered to 6,548 beneficiaries. Meanwhile, for those within the age group 45 to 60 years, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 3,85,289 beneficiaries and the second dose has been administered to 1,938 people. ”
