Himachal Pradesh polls: Congress Appoints Ex-Chief Minister's Wife as Himachal Chief

Pratibha Virbhadra Singh, the wife of former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh, was named the head of the party in the state on Tuesday. She is also a member of the Mandi Lok Sabha.

Singh is the new leader of the Himachal Pradesh Congress. Kuldeep Singh Rathore was the leader of the party before.

It has been reorganized ahead of the state Assembly elections later this year. Sonia Gandhi also named Harsh Mahajan, Rajender Rana, Pawan Kajal, and Vinay Kumar as the working presidents of the Himachal Pradesh PCC.

Ex-Union Minister Anand Sharma has also been named head of his party’s Steering Committee, with Asha Kumari as its leader. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been named head of the party’s Campaign Committee, with Asha Kumari as its leader.

Besides being on the Himachal Pradesh Congress’s Screening Committee, Sukhu will also be a committee member.

Mukesh Agnihotri has been chosen as the Congress Party (CLP) leader in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly. Harshwardhan Chauhan has been chosen to be the party’s deputy leader in the CLP. Jagat Singh Negi will be the party’s chief whip in the Assembly.

There are also proposals to name office-bearers for the PCC and Congress Legislature Party and set up committees in Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee right away, the party says in a news release.

Senior vice-presidents Gangu Singh Musafir, Inderdutt Lakhanpal, and Sunder Singh Thakur have been named. Sanjay Awasthi, Naresh Chauhan, Harish Janartha, Surender Chauhan, and Mohinder Chauhan are the new vice-presidents of the Himachal Pradesh Congress. They will work with the party’s new leaders to help them run the state.

He will be the new treasurer of the HPPCC.

People in the party say Viplove Thakur is now in charge of their disciplinary committee. Ashray Sharma, the grandson of former Indian minister Sukh Ram, is now in charge of the media and social media committees.

The statement said that office-holders and committees that have been in place for a long time would stay in their places.

“The party thanks Kuldeep Singh Rathore for his work as PCC president,” it said.

When the Manifesto Committee is in charge, Dhaniram Shandil is in charge. But Ashish Butail will be its vice-chairman, and Rhit Thakur will be in charge of the group as its leader.

When Kaul Singh Thakur left the PCC, he was made chairman of the Coordination Committee. Suresh Chandel will be its vice-chairman.

Ram Lal Thakur, who used to be a minister, is now the head of the Election Management Committee. The people on the panel are Kuldeep Singh Pathania and Anirudh Singh, and Raghubir Singh Bali will be the group’s leader. It’s PTI SKC.
