Hope to resolve issues faced by Indian Travelers

The executive director of the Serum Institute of India, chief of vaccines, Adar Poonawalla, said on Monday that he has addressed the problems facing Indians who have taken the Covishield jab by traveling to the European Union at the highest levels and hope to solve them soon.

Covishield is the University of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured in India by the Pune-based vaccine manufacturer.

“I realize that many Indians who have taken Covishield are facing problems with travel to the EU, I assure everyone, I have addressed it at the highest level and hope to resolve this matter soon, both with regulators and at the diplomatic level. . with the countries, ”Poonawalla said in a tweet.

As of now, the European Union (EU) recognizes Vaxzevria (formerly COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, Oxford).

The other vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency are Comirnaty by BioNTech-Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).
