The Thorn Armor in Destiny 2: There was plenty of speculation in the lead-up to the 30th Anniversary celebration regarding how we could get the new Thorn-inspired armor.
Thankfully, it’s earnable and cannot be purchased through the Eververse, as is the other brand new set of armor released, that of the Marathon armor.
While the set is purely ornamental, The Thorn set is a full-fledged set of armor, but it is possible to transform it. You must own the scene before converting it into an ornament; this is why we’ll show you.
How to Get the Thorn Armor in Destiny 2
To unlock an item called the Thorn Armor in Destiny 2, You’ll need to finish the new Grasp of Avarice dungeon. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to predict how many times it will require.
The complete Thorn armor covering the three characters is exclusive only to Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. Every encounter allows you to get the piece that you want to drop.
As of this writing, on the 8th of December, there are no official loot tables for the new dungeon. Unfortunately, this means I cannot advise you on which boss to fight for each piece of armor (although there will be one in around a week).
The lack of information isn’t all that keeps you from grinding out the collection of these armors.
Based on the DMG Twitter account, the brand new Grasp of Avarice dungeon is broken, which means that you only earn rewards for one time per difficulty and person.
The goal is to have the boss drops be obtainable, and a patch is expected for next week’s issue.
Suppose you’re reading this post from the 14th of December. In that case, you shouldn’t have any issue completing all of the dungeons until you’ve got a complete set of Thorn armor, mainly when you follow my Grasp of Avarice tutorial!
TLDR; Farm the New Dungeon
In short, the brand new Thorn armor available in Destiny 2 drops from encounters within the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. So if you’re looking to acquire the new armor, you’ll have to finish the jail to find the right drop.
Will it take time to acquire? Sure. It’s far better than having to purchase the entire set from Eververse.
Stay tuned, and we’ll keep this post updated with more details on the specific bosses to eliminate within the Grasp of Avarice to obtain the Thorn Armor in Destiny 2.
