Dhoni will be the permanent head of the CSK team

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the heart and soul of Chennai Super Kings and current CEO Kasi Viswanathan will not be surprised if the enigmatic former captain of India becomes “Team Leader” in 10 years from now.

Dhoni turned 39 on Tuesday and CSK, which is his spiritual home, left no stone unturned to make it a major social media event for his own “Thala”, which means leader in Tamil.

“In 10 years from now, I have a feeling he will be a permanent member in Chennai as the boss of Chennai Super Kings,” Viswanathan said on the Tamil show on Star Sports 1 “Dhoni Vazhi Thani Vazhi.”

Dhoni has been the CSK captain since the start of IPL and they have not finished below the top four (winning three times) in the 10 seasons that former BCCI President N Srinivasan’s team played in the league.

Viswanathan’s statement has a special meaning since he is considered someone very close to Srinivasan.

It remains to be seen if Dhoni ventures into sports administration when deciding to administer CSK in a few years.

Viswanathan also explained how Dhoni became Chennai’s favorite “Thala”.

“He knew only one thing that he is able to bring out the best in the team on his own.” Able to bring out the best in any team member. So we would call it Thala, “Viswanathan said.
