In an Operation, the Indian Army Killed 13 civilians among trap in Nagaland. 

An operation to counter-insurgency conducted by an elite section that is part of India’s Para Special Forces in Nagaland was deplorable on Saturday. 

It led to the death of 13 innocent people that were mistakenly assumed as militants. An Army jawan was also killed in the course of his life after the situation quickly spiraled beyond control.

Sources claimed that the secret operation was conducted without the knowledge of officers and the Assam Rifles. This para-military force plays an essential function in fighting insurgency in this region.

The Mon region is the home of the Naga, the Naga group NSCN(K), and the Assam’s ULFA (United Freedom Front Asom). 

The district has an international boundary with Myanmar and the state’s border with Assam. The region is known for being unstable and sensitive.

According to sources, at around 4 pm on Saturday, an army group headed by Majors, who was a Major, identified a pickup truck along the road Tiru-Oting as a target and fired firing.

The truck carried eight passengers aboard. Six of them died in the accident, while two others died on the way to the hospital. 

The theory is that those on the truck were coal miners from the local area. Additionally, sources claimed no guns or ammunition inside the truck.

Then the incident, hundreds of villagers -equipped with machetes and stones and attacked the army, according to sources. 

According to sources, the soldiers fired in self-defense, and five or more villagers were killed, while several others were wounded.

The commando of the group was shot dead while seven jawans were injured during the bricks thrown by the locals.

Nagaland, the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Neiphiu Rio, who was in Delhi, was returned to Nagaland and is expected to host a cabinet meeting, according to sources from the government.

The top military, police, and ministers of the home ministry are scheduled to meet at the Nagaland capital Kohima on the morning of tomorrow.

The Mon district restricts SMS and mobile internet to stop the circulation of gossip.

However, this evening, the scene became tense in Mon town when angry protesters were encircling the Assam rifle camp. 

Police sources claimed they broke into the camp and attempted to torch some of the bases.

The Chief of the Cabinet Minister Rio Twittered this morning to inform the public that the special investigation team will look into the issue and justice be done according to the country’s laws. 

Chief Minister Rio will visit the site on Monday and meet with the residents.
