India Has 2,202 New Coronavirus Cases And 27 Virus-Related Deaths

According to statistics published on Monday by the Union Health Ministry, India’s total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 4,31,23,801 in a single day, while active cases decreased to 17,317.

The death toll rose to 5,24,241 with 27 more deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

According to the ministry, the active cases accounted for 0.04 percent of all infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent.

Over 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 375 cases.

According to the health ministry, the daily positive rate was 0.74 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 0.59 percent.

The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,25,82,243, with a 1.22 percent case fatality rate. The total number of doses given out in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunization effort has surpassed 191.37 crores.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 total surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

It exceeded the 60 lakh milestone on September 28, the 70 lakh mark on October 11, the 80 lakh mark on October 29, the 90 lakh mark on November 20, and the one-crore mark on December 19.

Last year, the nation passed the two-crore mark on May 4 and the three-crore mark on June 23.

Twenty-two people were killed in Kerala, three in Delhi, and one in Maharashtra and Jammu & Kashmir.

So far, the nation has recorded 5,24,241 fatalities, with 1,47,855 deaths in Maharashtra, 69,385 in Kerala, 40,105 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,195 in Delhi, 23,513 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,203 in West Bengal.

More than 70% of the fatalities, according to the government, were caused by comorbidities.

“Our data are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry stated. The state-by-state distribution of figures is still being verified and reconciled. PTI PLB DV DV
