Sri Lankan parliamentary authorities said the decision to cancel Imran’s speech was due to the Corona situation.

However, analysts say there are other reasons behind this. After an all-party meeting in the capital Colombo on Wednesday, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s government hastily took the decision after realizing that Imran Khan could raise the issue of Kashmir in his speech in Parliament. Some diplomatic analysts see the move as “significant”. They think that Colombo does not want any anti-India statement in Imran’s speech. Recently, the government has canceled the port agreement with Bharita. New Delhi is quite angry about that. In such a situation, Sri Lanka does not want to provoke New Delhi in any way.
