India is ready to supply disaster relief material for Afghanistan earthquake.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that India is prepared to immediately give all available disaster relief supplies in response to the loss of life and destruction brought on by an earthquake in Afghanistan. He said that India supports the Afghan people.
“I am heartbroken to hear about the recent catastrophic earthquake in Afghanistan. Sincere sympathies for the loss of such valuable people. “In a tweet, he said.
One of the worst earthquakes to hit Afghanistan in decades rocked a remote, mountainous area early on Wednesday, killing 1,000 people and wounding 1,500 more, according to the state-run news agency. The terrible death toll may yet increase, according to officials.
India, Modi stated, “stands behind the people of Afghanistan in these trying times and is prepared to give all feasible disaster relief material at the earliest.”
