India Records 1.68 Lakh New Covid Cases.

India reported 1,68,063 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, 6.4 percent lower than the same time the previous year, including 4461 Omicron variant instances.

 However, India also recorded 277 deaths from coronavirus within the last 24 hours.

  1. The positive rate for the day dropped to 10.64 percent, down from 13.29 percent the previous day. The week-long positivity rate was recorded at 8.85 percent. The Monday before, the nation had registered 1.79 lakh cases of Covid.
  2. The number of active cases stands at 8,214,446, which is 2.29 percent of total cases. The total Covid number of cases has grown to 3,58,75790, while the death count increased to 4,842,213 deaths in India.
  3. In the last 24 hours, at least 69,959 recovery cases were reported. Just the previous 24-hours increased all recovered to 3,45,701,131. The rate of recovery for India is currently 96.36 percent.
  4. India has given 152.89 million doses of vaccine today. On Monday, the country started administering the “precautionary” dose against the disease. Health Ministry officials said that nearly 9 million healthcare professionals, frontline workers, and 60+ people who have comorbidity received their third Covid injection within the first 24 hours. Health Ministry said.
  5. Maharashtra is one of the states that has suffered the most from the Covid pandemic, recorded 33,470 COVID-19 cases that were newly diagnosed that included 1,247 cases of the Omicron variant, as well as eight people, died on Monday. Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope said the third phase of the coronavirus pandemic has been initiated and will reach its peak in January-January-end.
  6. India carried out 69.31 million Covid tests to date, and 15,79,928 of them were examined yesterday, officials from the Ministry of Health said.
  7. In a recent advisory, the top government medical organization said that the contacts of COVID-19 patients, except for those who are identified as high-risk, aren’t required to be tested. It also noted that symptomatic patients who live in community settings and patients who have been in home isolation as per guidelines, patients who have been discharged from COVID-19 facilities as well as those undertaking interstate domestic travel, should not be tested.
  8. Delhi recorded 19,166 cases on Monday. Every fourth person checked for Covid in Delhi is found to be positive. The rate of positive tests in the capital city of India was at 25 percent. This was the highest level ever since the 5th of May. New restrictions were imposed on dining out and eating at restaurants in the wake of rising instances.
  9. India is experiencing a hospitalization rate of between 5 and 10% for the third Covid wave. The government has stated this, noting it is “dynamic and evolving and the need for hospital care may change rapidly.”
  10. On Monday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Manviya urged States and Union territories to ensure there was no delay in preparations to fight the Covid outbreak and stressed creating a holistic synergy to ensure seamless control of the disease.
