India reports 58,077 Covid-19 cases and 657 deaths over the past 24 hours.  

New Delhi: India has recorded 58,077 Covid-19 deaths and 657 new cases within the last 24 hours, bringing the total death count by 5,07,177 as per the figures published from the Ministry of Health on Friday (February 11, 2022). The number of active cases is 6,97,802.

A decrease of 92.987 cases has been reported in the Covid-19 caseload that is currently active over just 24 hours. The country also saw 1,50,407 recuperations today, which brings the number of recovered cases up to 4,13,31,158.

The active cases account for 1.64 percent of the total number of infections. The overall COV-19 recovery rate is 97.17 percent.

The rate of positivity for the day was recorded as 3.89 percent, whereas the weekly rate of positivity is recorded as 5.76 percent, According to the ministry.

Furthermore, the cumulative doses that have been administered across the country under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign have been more than 171.79 million. 

In addition, more than 14,91,678 tests have been conducted within the last 24 hours to determine the presence of the virus.

The 657 deaths reported in the new year comprise 341 deaths in Kerala and 45 of Maharashtra. Five,07177 deaths have been recorded across the nation, including 1,43292 from Maharashtra and 61,134 deaths from Kerala, 39,534 from Karnataka, 37,862 deaths in Tamil Nadu, 26,035 from Delhi, 23372 in Uttar Pradesh, and 20,938 from West Bengal.

In the meantime, the coronavirus population has reached 405.6 million. The deaths have risen to over 5.78 million. 

The number of vaccinations has risen to more than 10.14 billion as per Johns Hopkins University.

The US is the most badly affected country, having the highest number of deaths and cases, with 77,437 and 915,349 deaths, as per the CSSE. 

The country that is second-worst hit by the number of cases includes India (42,478,060 cases and 506 deaths), closely followed by Brazil (27,135,550 cases and 636,338 people killed).
