Friday’s announcement of the schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has been made.
The Men in Blue will face Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in their first
match on October 23.
The Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in Australia from October 16 to November 13
and played at seven venues: Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Adelaide and Geelong.
There will be 45 matches played in Adelaide, Brisbane and Geelong, and Melbourne, Perth
Sydney, and Hobart. This ensures the same national footprint of the 2020 event.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be played at Kardinia Park Geelong on Sunday,
October 16.
Two qualifiers from Group A. Two-time champions Sri Lanka will join them, and Namibia will
play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 at Kardinia Park, Geelong, on Sunday, October 16.
The Super 12 hosts Australia are in Group 1 and the world number one England and New
Zealand.
They also have Afghanistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand and England.
Group 2 includes India, Pakistan, South Africa, and the winner of Group B from the First
Round and the runner-up for Group A.
Australia, the hosts and defending champions, will face New Zealand in Saturday’s opening
match at the Super 12 at The SCG.
This match will be a rematch of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 Final.
The Black Caps will face England at The Gabba on 1 November.
This is a replay of their thrilling semi-final encounter in 2021.
At the MCG, two of world cricket’s most powerful rivals will meet. India takes on Pakistan
on Sunday, 23 October.
This will be the first World Cup clash between these two countries.
It also comes before Australia and England meet at the same venue Friday, October 28.
On Sunday, October 30, the state-of-the-art Perth Stadium will host a massive double-
header with South Africa facing off against India in the evening match.
The runners-up of Group A will be facing Pakistan earlier in the day.
The seven venues that will host matches include Adelaide Oval, The Gabba Kardinia Park
Stadium, and Bellerive Oval.
Semi-finals will occur at the Adelaide Oval and SCG on November 9-10, respectively.
The final will occur under lights at Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13.
As the Super 12 stage of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Australia, New Zealand, England,
India and Pakistan have been granted direct entry.
The First Round will be played by Sri Lanka, West Indies and Scotland.
Namibia, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Scotland have all qualified.
The remaining four spots at Australia 2022 are filled through the ongoing qualification
pathway.
This will culminate in two global qualifying tournaments early in 2022.

the most popular format in cricket.
