Former India player Pragyan Ojha has chosen five key players for England in the upcoming Test match against India starting February 5 in Chennai. The 34-year-old has calculated that these are the players who will challenge the stars of India at Chepauk.

Pragyan has selected James Anderson and Stuart Broad ahead of Jofra Archer. The 34-year-old chose Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jack Leach as his other three impact players.

Speaking on Sports Today, Pragyan Ojha said Anderson and Broad have bowling experience in India, while Archer has just played limited-game cricket on the subcontinent.

“I chose James Anderson because of the experience, I think they will not play together because they will need Jofra Archer, but I think these two guys are more important. They have the experience of bowling in India in the test match, red. Cricket ball. Yes, Jofra Archer has played, but he has played white-ball cricket. If you talk about red-ball cricket, these two guys will be a huge threat to our batting lineup, “Pragyan Ojha said.

Explaining his reason for including spinner Jack Leach on his list of key England players for the first test in Chennai, Pragyan said that apart from Rishabh Pant, most of India’s first-order hitters are right-handed players.

“Aside from Rishabh Pant, we are mostly right-handers in our higher-order, so a left-arm spinner on Jack Leach becomes important. Joe Root, the way he’s been hitting, is one of the Fab 4s, we always talk in world cricket, “he said.
