Indian-Americans Donated Rs 1 crore for health sector in Bihar

An American Indian couple has donated more than Rs 1 crore to health care works in Bihar and Jharkhand, the Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA) announced on Monday.

The generous donation of USD 150,000 from the Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation to BJANA would be used for health care efforts in rural areas of the two states through the PRAN-BJANA clinical initiative.

Pravasi Alumni Nisshulk (PRAN) is an initiative of like-minded Indian-American physicians working to provide healthcare for the disadvantaged and underserved in Bihar and Jharkhand.

These doctors have established a PRAN clinic in Ranchi, which provides free health care services to those in need. Their effort is to provide free health care services in every state.

“With the generous donation of Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia, this was made possible. Obtaining a large donation from BJANA is a testament to their ongoing philanthropic activities both here and at home, ”said BJANA President Avinash Gupta.

Alok Kumar, former FIA president, said that this type of donation would help BJANA carry out its health work in the region.
