Indian student killed in Kharkiv by a missile attack. 

Kharkiv, Ukraine: This morning, a student from India was killed in the shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine. People from the Ministry are in touch with him and his family.

People say that the student, Naveen, was 21 and came from Karnataka. However, when he talked to his family a few days ago, he said he had been safe in a bunker. 

He told them over video call that he had been there. The student went out to buy food. He fell for the attack while out.

“The Foreign Secretary is meeting with Ambassadors from Russia and Ukraine to reiterate our call for safe passage for Indian citizens who are still in Kharkiv and other cities in conflict zones.” Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet. 

Further, he wrote: “We are deeply sorry to say that an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. People from the Ministry are in touch with him and his family. People in the family are in our thoughts and prayers.”

“Many people are worried about the situation in Kharkiv because it is getting worse. People in the government care very much about the safety and security of Indian citizens in that city.” Sources said. 

“So, it is essential that Russia and Ukraine help us get to a safe place as soon as possible. In places where the conflict hasn’t made it hard to move, we’ve been able to get our people out.”

“Most of them were taken out of Ukraine, but some are now living in safer places. We will keep trying to get our citizens in Ukraine back home, “sources told ANI.

Russian shelling has hit the center of Ukraine’s second-biggest city, Kharkiv, again, the government said on Tuesday. 

Oleh Sinehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, said that the administration building in the center of Kharkiv was hit by much Russian shelling and other residential buildings in the city center.

In Sinehubov’s words, Ukraine’s troops are protecting the city of 1.4 million people from Russians. 

Videos that were posted on Ukrainian social networks and media show a huge explosion next to the tall Soviet-era administrative building on Kharkiv’s main square. 

It hit several cars parked in front of the building, shattering the windows but leaving primarily intact.
